Summary The Manager plans, directs and coordinates the daily operations of the department amongst all the 3 shifts. This position requires an individual who is able to work in a busy environment, possesses solid math skills, is detailed and team oriented. The Logistics Manager must also enforce Safety rules and written procedures and have an ability to coach and train people on a continuous basis. The employee also incorporates the use of all technologies and equipment provided to efficiently and effectively manage the workload and his/her subordinates. In event of absence, position will be filled by equal level position, Spvsr or appropriately trained Spvsr designee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other responsibilities w/ similar skill & work conditions as assigned.
- Oversees all internal warehouse activity as it pertains to Distribution and Manufacturing.
- Ensures all inventory is maintained within agreed upon guidelines, and is real time verifiable within the system.
- Oversees warehouse and logistics office staff; practices and procedures.
- Oversee 6-8 direct reports(supervisor) over all 3 shifts
- Responsible for working with outside storages and coordinating product arriving on-time for shipments
- Develop/Track KPI’s for Logistics Department
- Supports supervisors on all 3 shifts and gives a clear direction on daily goals and objectives
- Brings unity to the department/shifts
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts and count
Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises approx. 6-8 supervisors across 3 shifts, responsible for all day to day warehouse activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
