Summary – The Food Safety and Quality Systems Tech III will support the maintenance and improvement of FSQ programs, procedures, & policies. Regularly assess the effective completion and documentation of the FSQ systems through audits, trainings, validations, and verifications. This position requires an individual that works independently and can effectively communicate their findings to multidisciplinary teams. Blount Fine Food Facility produce USDA and FDA products, which include RTE hot-filled soups, sauces, and sides. In event of position absence, daily duties could be filled by FSQ Specialist or FSQ systems supervisor.
Shift: 2nd Shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.
· Receives leadership and daily direction from FSQ Management and ensures completion of assigned tasks.
· Contribute to a multidisciplinary team regarding the safety and quality risks of new processes, or special projects where FSQ representation is needed.
· Daily reviews the facility programs related records to assure conformance to requirements.
· Generates and maintains reports and KPIs related to FSQ, outlining areas of opportunity and constraint.
· Possesses knowledge and understanding of the policies and standard operating procedures throughout the facility to audit, inspect, coach, and ensure compliance.
· Must have through knowledge of Blount’s HACCP Plans (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and comfortable assessing HACCP plan compliance & training to the HACCP plans
· Contributes to the editing, reviewing, and training on standards and changes to food safety programs prior to implementation.
· Assists with generating and answering noncompliance records (NCR/RCA/FSI/RA/Customer Complaints) for Facility
· Assists in the maintenance of finished product ON HOLD database and disposition product.
· Assist FSQ Management with collecting and inputting data and draw conclusions via data analysis to assist with the generation of reports.
· Carrying out studies, verifications, and validations in efforts to continuously improve programs and processes related to Blount FSQ.
· Support FSQ Management with commercialization of new products to meet customer and consumer expectations; including but not limited to raw material and HACCP review.
· Other duties with similar skill, responsibility, and work conditions as assigned.
· As required, may assist with other external auditing needs.
· Leads by example of all Blount policies including adhering to all GMPs
· Performs the work of inline or lab technologist when necessary.

Education and/or Experience
· Highschool diploma (or GED equivalent);
· 2+ years related work experience in FSQ food manufacturing experience.
· Experience working FSQ in a USDA facility strongly preferred.
Language Skills
· Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, reports, and graphs.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, such as discounts, interest, commissions, area, circumference, and volume.
· Ability to compute basic statistical knowledge such as proportions, percentages, averages. Knowledge of standard deviation and AQL calculations is preferred.
Reasoning Ability
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of
· EMP inventory control systems (e.g., Sage, Redzone)
· Spreadsheet software (excel, mini tab)
· Microsoft office software (word, power point, excel, teams)
· Must be able to adapt to utilizing new forms of technology.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
· This position requires a valid driver’s license, pre-employment and annual screening of Motor Vehicle Record and personal automobile insurance coverage in accordance with the Blount Fine Foods Employee Handbook.
