Summary
Under the guidance of Learning & Development Director; responsible for decisions in the design, implementation, and auditing of Blount Operations Learning & Development programs for single and multi-unit execution. Ensuring ongoing, long term employee growth, to meet corporate requirements, and maximize employee potential. In event of absence, position will be filled by equal level position, Manager or appropriately trained Supervisor designee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.
- Create/Supervise Learning & Development programs which are based on Operational needs and business factors; to ensure successful implementation and consistent adherence.
- Taking full Program ownership ensuring optimal execution as well as the establishment and achievement of ROI to gauge success and impact.
- Works closely with L&D Director/counterpart Manager to structure, pilot, and Project Manage Programs to be tested at Corporate location before full Corporate/location roll out.
- Staying on the cutting edge of industry processes and standards by conducting ongoing field study and research.
- Works directly with staff within manufacturing environment; developing and mentoring employees with a continuous improvement mentality
- Assists with the development, scheduling, organizing and execution of Operations L&D programs by internal and/or outside development resources.
Positional accountabilities
- Is a teacher, a mentor, and a positive influence in the development of Blount Operations staff.
- Researches, recommends and assists in the coordination and evaluation of Operations development opportunities in the area of workshops, seminars, events and on-line courses for the staff.
- Through program development and execution, considers platform application within all (3) locations of approx..1400 employees.
- Provides an absolute floor presence. Continuously mentoring, educating, and developing staff, to assure greatest potential.
- Ongoing personal development; assuring most effective utilization of position and resources.
- Adheres to established departmental budget.
Responsibilities for Food Safety
- Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
- Must adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and all Food and Employee Safety policies.
- Must adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
- Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities, and individuals.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee L&D Supervisor, Coordinator, and Position Instructor positions, to obtain established departmental goals and assure positional growth.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience (Level 1)
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University
- 4 + years training related and/or leadership experience.
- This person should have excellent communication skills, strong computer skills, be self motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task, ambitious, and have teacher and mentor mentality.
Education and/or Experience (Level 2)
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University
- 6 + years training related and/or leadership experience.
- This person should have excellent communication skills, strong computer skills, be self motivated, detail oriented, able to multi-task, ambitious, and have teacher and mentor mentality.
Education and/or Experience (Level 3)
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University
- 8 + years training related and/or leadership experience.
