Summary: Blount Fine Foods is searching for a Product Development Associate to assist the R&D team by maintaining the order of the kitchen as well as benchtop sample production to meet the needs of customers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in product ideation sessions, new recipe/product development, ingredient evaluation, and cost savings analysis.

  • Properly prepare formulas for benchtop production, including gathering, accurately weighing, and cutting/preparing ingredients.
  • Develop finished product specifications in collaboration with R&D Technical, FSQ, and Operations
  • Accurately cook recipes in accordance with the guidelines as outlined by the R&D team.
  • Prepare samples for food shows, customer presentations, and internal development. Managing customer requests and sample delivery as needed.
  • Execute and/or support during culinary presentations for sales/customers, key stakeholders, and other personnel/events.
  • Ensure the culinary center remains a showplace by focusing on cleanliness throughout the day, as well as weekly deep cleaning when needed.
  • Stock and organize all storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers in the culinary center. Maintaining temperature logs, as needed.
  • Receive and evaluate sample ingredients and products according to SOPs.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have a passion for food, and be driven with a winning attitude.
  • Other responsibilities with similar skill, work conditions, and responsibilities as assigned.

 Education and/or Experience                                             

  • Associate degree (AS) in culinary arts.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
